The "Design and Society" course explores wood cultures across different societies around the world. We were asked to research one culture and relate it to our own. I chose to focus on the voodoo religion, originating from Benin, and specifically on voodoo dolls, which were originally intended to preserve the souls of loved ones in inanimate objects but later transformed into dark dolls. My project addressed the "commercialization of religion" and cynically suggested the possibility of creating voodoo dolls of our enemies in the country (Sinwar and Nasrallah).
